Brief Introduction to the Application Procedures for Foreign - related Works Registration


For the application of foreign - related works registration, the following materials need to be submitted:


  1. Registration application form

  2. Identification materials of the applicant

  3. Letter of Warranty of Rights (Please notarize and authenticate)

  4. Work description

  5. Sample of the work (One copy, including a copy of the cover and copyright page, copies of part of the manuscript, photos, samples, etc.)


In addition, according to the different situations of the applicants (such as agency application), choose to submit the following documents:


  1. Power of attorney for agency

  2. Valid proof of signature

  3. Proof materials of right ownership (When it is in a foreign language, a full - text translation should be attached)


After the registration applicant submits all of the following documents and the application fee, the application will be accepted and the applicant will be notified in writing at the same time.


The specific requirements for submitting materials are as follows:


(1) Filling in the foreign - related works registration application form


  1. Use the customized form.

  2. When filling in this form, use simplified Chinese, a fountain pen or a carbon pen, and ensure that the handwriting is clear and neat.

  3. For the items that need to be selected, please tick in the □ or ○.

  4. When the "Other" option is selected in some columns of the form, specific situations should be written out after it.

  5. The specific requirements for filling in each column are as follows:
    (1) The "Chinese" item in the work name column must be filled in. When the work has no foreign name, the "Foreign" item may not be filled in.
    (2) In the creation type column, if "Original work" is selected, the "Original work name" and "Original registration number" items may not be filled in.
    (3) In the creation form column, while selecting individual creation, collaborative creation, or commissioned creation, one can also select work - for - hire.
    (4) In the author, copyright owner, and applicant columns, full names should be noted and abbreviations, aliases, etc. should not be used.
    (5) What is filled in the applicant column must be one of the right holders.
    (6) The "Agent" must be an agent formally entrusted by the applicant in the form of a power of attorney.
    (7) For the "Submitted document list", please select and fill in according to the documents submitted during the application.

  6. Without the signature or seal of the applicant or agent, the content filled in this form is invalid.


(2) Registration categories
According to the provisions of the "Copyright Law", the registration applications are divided into two types, each with twelve categories and two categories. The specific division is as follows:

A. Literary works; B. Musical works; C. Dramatic works; D. Quyi works; E. Dance works; F. Art works; G. Photographic works; H. Film works; I. Television (video) works; J. Engineering design, product design drawings and their descriptions; K. Map, schematic diagram and other graphic works; L. Other works as stipulated by laws and administrative regulations; M. Audio and video recordings


(3) Identification of the applicant
When the applicant is an individual, a copy of the ID card should be submitted; when the applicant is a legal person, the legal person qualification proof materials should be submitted. (Please authenticate)
(4) Work description
A written material used to describe the creative purpose, usage purpose, and the originality of the work.
(5) Proof of right ownership
When the applicant is a successor of rights, corresponding written proof materials of right change should be submitted.
(6) Work sample
One sample of the work should be submitted, such as manuscript, photo, sample, etc.
